Default mirror fell out!

i just picked up my friend in my car and as we started out of his driveway my freakin passenger mirror falls off and breaks into like 3 pieces. Any one know where i can get just the mirror or does any one have mirrors they are looking to get rid of for a cheap price??

I have a set of mirrors left and right side in Zermatt silver since I went to 968 ones... but there should be plenty of mirror glass locally, let me know in a couple of weeks if you get stuck.

Hi, wow I had that happen to me on the drivers side, but mirror only got slightly chipped on original side and the back side also had a mirror finish, so just turned it around a used some contact cement, so far so good. I suggest everyone check their mirrors on these 16+ year old cars.

Well for you, since it is passenger side and you want convex mirror, I do remember someone (Like performance parts, or someone else with a catalog) carrying convex mirrors, they were advertised to use on drivers side to get a better view), but I suspect they should work fine on passenger side.

Hope this helps,
Jeff

If you absolutely must have something today your local autoparts store should have a mirror fix-it kit. Consists of thick mirror-paper and double-sided stickies...cut it to fit and stick it on.

Otherwise take NZ's advice or hit the junkyard.

This is a pain...had it happen to me recently too.

Go Here: http://www.20thstreetauto.com/
They have the glass cut and ground for them. I picked one up when I lived in Phoenix. It was as reasonable price. Not sure if they fall out more there because of the heat.

Funny , my passenger side mirror fell out also as I pulled into traffic. It appeared to fall out whole. I pulled over and attempted to run and get it just as a green Toyota Rav ran it over. That lady had to have seen me. I wish I had a bazooka. grrrrrr
