oil pan gasket
I was just looking around under my car when I noticed a couple of cracks about 1 1/2 inch's long on my oil pan gasket. The leak must be realy, realy small because I haven't noticed a drop in oil. With something like that, how much longer do you guys think I drive the car intill I need to change it.

It depends, mine was 'seeping' oil for a few months and drove it normally, untill it got serious and starting dripping on the floor.

Oil pans are easy!!!!
Just gotta start off with a steaming hot cup o' tea...
And end off with an icecold beer(*)!!!
* - If your engine is in the car as mine was not, substitute "a case of beer" for "a beer".

(You should replace the rod bearings "while you're in there". . .) Thanks alot for the info Porsche-O-Phile. Also theedge , but sometimes I just skip the tea, and head right to the beer.

It can be done. It isn't difficult, just time consuming. Lots of parts must come off but if you are careful, and mark everything, you won't need to re-align. I left the control arms on the car and unscrewed the tie rod ends (after marking them so I could get them back on in the same place).
Rod bearings are a breeze once the oil pan is off.
