I'm having inspection ports drilled on my cam tower for my mechanical lifter conversion. The machinist is using bungs for the plugs and he'd like a better idea of what he's working with before doing any welding.

Does anyone know the type/grade of aluminum the cam tower is made out of or what filler rod should be used for TIG?
