Default 16V 3.0 turbo in 924 Carrera GTS

I've always liked this car, a lot, but I never realized this guy had done a few "changes" under the hood. I know he lurks around here some. Any idea of what this thing is putting out? It looks impressive..........

That looks like a k27 - so he'll be making about 340 RWHP max - maybe a little less with the afm.
All that work for nothing - it brings a tear to my eye.
Almost like rebuilding a BMW S14 turbo - AND KEEPING THE STOCK PISTONS IN IT!!!

*scratches head* Why would someone build a 3L Turbo and put a k27 and AFM on it?

Well i suppose thats cool if he was building a replica car. Well its cool at any rate Just confused me loll.

EDIT: Damn Jim beat me lol.

From the photos on the ttt-Motorsport web, three things caught my eyes:
1. Very small turbine AR for Maximum power (3L 16V). Must have "incredible throttle response"
2. "Kink" on the Throttle body to intercooler pipe hose, restricting air flow.
3. 951 intake runners not well aligned with Intake manifold runners.

Otherwise, excellent project!

no - but it is a lot of work for that.
There are so many things wrong with putting an afm and k/27 on that car, I don't even know where to start.

That's an old picture - last time I saw this engine in that car it featured a Bosch MAF.

I was thinking the same thing, it always confuses me when someone spends truck loads of money on a project and doesnt just "Do it right". Eh, maybe his goals are a bit different then mine.

well if it a racing class there may be rules to deal with.

remember with 968 Turbo RS Porsche put the 8v head on the car since the class was a power/weight deal. They did not need gobbs of top end power, but were looking for torque.

Race rules can do funny things to a car.

Maybe its just an intermediate step? Dunno how long hes had the car with that engine in it though.
