Default New Turbo Addition to The Family!

Well folks it looks like it should be official by the end of today. I will be the proud owner of 'Waldo'. The car is having some goodies intalled and hopefully I will be able to pick it up by the end of this week. I should have a nice drive from California to the ALMS event in Portland this weekend. If not Steve will have a chance to compare 'Waldo' to 'Rufus' before I can fly down to pick up the car.

What is the story behind Waldo? Who is the previous owner and what is Rufus?

por951turbo: 'Waldo' was owned by 'ca993twin' on the 993 turbo forum. Here are a few specs on the car.

1996 993TT with 68,xxx miles Arena Red/Gray
o Approximately 470HP
o Kinesis K28 wheels. 8.5” fronts, 10.5” rears
o Bilstein PSS-9 (8000 miles)
o Brand new GT1 (k16/k24 stage one hybrid) turbochargers (0 miles)
o 1997 ECU with high performance Gemballa "bi-turbo" program
o exhaust header "clean-up" for more performance
o engine just resealed (0 miles)
o front strut tower brace
o billet diverter valves
o RS engine mounts
o RS short-shift kit
o B&B sport exhaust
o 1997 first gear shaft
o 1997 uprated turbo hoses
o aluminum/cf shifter and handbrake (factory option)
o aluminum pedal set incl dead pedal
o aluminum threshold plates
o new headlight lenses
o tinted windows
o Euro-like front bumper with no bumperettes, Turbo "S" ducts, and clear corners
o Turbo "S" second aux oil cooler
o Andial boost gauge
o Aftermarket Alpine stereo with “Kicker” amp in the trunk and subwoofer hidden somewhere in the car. Awesome sound. I have a receipt for $2400.

The car had the complete 60,000 mile service (also got the PSS-9s at that time) with brakes and rear rotors. Just got its "mid-interval" oil change, fixed a minor valve cover gasket oil leak with a complete reseal, had both turbochargers replaced with fresh GT1 (k16/k24 stage one hybrids), and had the exhaust headers "cleaned-up" for even more performance.

'Rufus' is the new car that 'ca993twin' has bought. It is a 1996 993 Arena Red Twin Turbo (Ruf Turbo R conversion).

Damn!!! You just picked up one of the all-time great cars, in my opinion. Congrats and have fun with it.
