Need help with rusted downpipe bolts - Audi A4 Turbo
Hey guys,
Sorry this isn't for the porsche, but I am helping my brother put on a new Neuspeed exhaust on his A4 with the 1.8T and am having a bastard of a time getting the rusted downpipe bolts out. The biggest problem is that rust on the bolt heads makes it so I can't get the 11 mm socket all the way on and consequenty can't get a good bite. Anyone have any suggestions? My brother is on his way to Sears to get a set of the Bolt Out sockets with the fluted teeth.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Soak it as long and wet as you can with PB Blaster. It's the best stuff of it's kind I've come across. A propane or MAP torch on the surrounding area can help too (don't light the PB Blaster on fire of course), if there is room.

I second the Liquid Wrench/PB Blaster and Bolt-Outs. Thats the combo that got my rusted bolts off...

Andrew... Nice
If you heat it up and use a hammer and just tap/smash it, should loosen up. Also PB blaster is pretty good at that stuff. But as long as you got it off :-\
