The only problem with that on a street car is the annoying black soot and flames on the paint. Had a full race car that needed an aluminum panel rivited to the side as a heat barrier.

Its exhaust straight from the manifold but only when the wastegate opens (assuming a good spring) after max boost is reached. You could put a small exhaust box on it if it was too loud.

NZ how you supporting it?

I've wondered why someone didn't do something like this sooner. . . A few guys just dump to atmosphere directly off the split aft of the wastegate, but I think that's a more elegant solution. So what if it adds another few pounds - ultimately I think it'll enhance rather than hinder performance.

You running a dual port Tial, right? So you'd get that nice crisp "bang" at shift time. . .

No its like an open exhaust. The sound is hard to describe, but its not a "whoosh" like a blow off valve.

Its a ripping canvas sound come to think of it.

Nice NZ! I'm just going to dump mine under the car. If you want to know what it'll sound like, take youir catback off! Go for a quick spin, make sure you hit full boost! Its loud yes, and will scare little kids, dogs and old people.

Its a very hard sound to describe, but its awsome.

Yup, short pipe is fine, though check local legislation on where the pipe can exit and noise control etc if you dont have a muffler etc.

he he he well, I have a Porsche track event in a couple of weeks, I will try get some footage then... I have a baffle that can bolt in the muffler, so that will be out, so its quite loud then, but quiet as stock with it in + the screamer noise now of course.

Yup its a 38mm Tial. Not sure what the effect would be when using the stock WG... hmmmm

Not a bad description, almost like Vtec kicking in! Sad but true really. I sugget if anyone does this, budget an extra $20 for a little resonator if you want to quiet it down.

So
A. Nice work.
B. What are you planning to do too adress the heat issue mentioned above? I know how you love your bling, so melted fg, and black soot on the rear of your car ain't gonna fly.
C Nice Work

I only just realised it isn't intake it's bleeding, its exhaust so of course it's hot, sooty and noisy.

Maybe I'll give it a go with the elbow that connects to the exhaust pointing downward at the road to see what it sounds like and take it from there.

I have my WG dump to atm.

And yes "Its a ripping canvas sound come to think of it." On full boost and revs, that is about what it sounds like.

Even better when you are going by someone or something that allows the sound to bounce back into the cockpit
