Default In desperate need of a Link AFM Tuning Module in Augusta, GA

Well I’ve been waiting on Danno to send me my tuning module for my Guru Link MAP Kit but it has been quite a while, and still no tuning module. I am still hopeful, but in the mean time I am tuning via reprogramming the chips. It is working pretty well but I really need to at least reset the Link box back to all zero’s because I think it has some “corrections” programmed into it by the previous owner that are throwing off my tuning.

In summation if someone anywhere near Augusta or Atlanta Georgia has a Link Tuning Module that I could use I would really appreciate it. I would be more than willing to drive out to your house/work/whatever so that we could plug in the Tuning Module and reset my computer.
OR
If someone farther away has a Tuning Module I could use for a short while I would be happy to pay shipping both ways, and I would be extremely grateful.

Big thanks in advance,
John

One thing you could do is search for link dealers, and buy one from like a miata or subaru place. I did this when I had a map kit and needed a serial link adapter.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the idea, unfortunately that would be painful on the ol' wallet since I already paid for 1 tuning module. I have just been waiting on Danno to ship it for just under a year (I've still got faith though. I just sent him an e-mail and I think he really is a cool guy who knows ridiculous amounts about these cars, it's just his shipping is a bit slow sometimes). So I would really like to be able to just zero out the settings in my Link MAP box for now, then whenever the tuning module finally makes it I can finish tuning with it then.

Oh and as always Mark, you da man. I swear I must be following in your tuning footsteps or something, because you provide me with so much helpful information.

Thanks,
John

Thanks for the compliment. I would send you a module but I have sold my kit. Hopefully someone will have one.

"I think he really is a cool guy who knows ridiculous amounts about these cars".....that is so dead on! Sorry to hear it's been such a painful process.

Close to a year? I'd say that "a bit slow" is a bit of an understatement.

Close to a year !!!!!!! This sounds ridiculous. Nobody in his
right mind would have the patience to wait that long.
If it were to be me, I would have scream on top of my head.
Not that I'm on Dannos side but hey, that remark is kind of
hard for me to swallow.

Chris,
Yes! You are the man. I will e-mail you el pronto. I really appreciate it.

Ok guys I am really not looking to flame Danno. Yes, I know that he is not a very good businessman but it has two sides. I have learned a huge amount of knowledge from the man. He is the one who convinced me to put a 951 engine in my car instead of a 350, when I bought the car with no engine. He has also offered up 10 times the free information of any other tuner. He gives way more free information than any wise (read stingy) businessman would. So no, I am not looking to flame him in any way and I would appreciate it if others would not either, especially others who do not have experience with him. His slow shipping practices are well known on this board, and addition flaming will not help to "inform others."

Regards,
John

I was in the same position as you a while back and nobody would let me use theirs... I gotta break the chain!

Haha, that's funny. That's the same reason I bought the engine hoist I spoke of in the e-mail, I had to break the chain.

Chris, I just got it in the mail, I really appreciate it.

Unfortunately I'm having problems getting it to work.

When I plug it into the Link AFM box and crank the car up, the Tuning Module lights up and displays “######## “ then 8 or so blank spaces, well it’s actually solid black squares not # symbols but the # is the closest symbol I could find. Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? Man sometimes I swear the Porsche gods hate me.

Thanks in advance for anyones input,
John
