I have an 87 951 and would like to know where the clutch pedal disengages -- mine pushes less than an inch from the top to fully disengaged. The clutch is still holding strong - no slippage. Do I have a worn clutch disk or is it just out of adjustment?
Thanks,
Jack

There are two adjustments for the clutch. One adjustment sets the amount of force needed to depress the clutch, and the other sets the peddle free play.
Peddle force is adjusted with a nut that compresses a spring. Loosen the nut and peddle force goes up (harder peddle). Tighten the nut and peddle force goes down (Lighter peddle).
To set the free play, loosen the 13mm nut on the push rod to the clutch master cylinder, and then turn the push rod so there is about 1mm of free play between the push rod and the piston in the clutch master cylinder and tighten the 13mm lock nut.
