Joesph SC,
Where did you see the 951 cab if you don't mind me asking? I like to keep track of any others...

You can't adjust the valves; you can get an adjustable cam gear.

It was right outside my old apartment in SoCal -- there was a thread on it awhile back with some more details: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/173190-944-turbo-cab-sighting-in-us.html

And here is another potential sighting in a current thread about an eBay car: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/215286-turbo-cab.html

I dont like wanabe cars. This WILL BE a 968 with a 951 heart and soal.

How is that a "wannabe?" And conversely, isn't your 968 a "wannabe" 951, since it lacked that power to begin with and it's not coming from a 968 power plant?

Nice idea for a project though, and not to get on your case, just messing around. The 968 is one of my favorite cars aside from the motor, and once you throw the 951 motor in there it pretty much makes it my dream "practical" supercar. In my book this is one of the coolest swaps around. Best of luck and hope to see your turbo 968 on the boards.

My thought was to take the best that each has to offer and put them together. I am not in the position to spend $30k-$40k on a turbo 3.0 If I were to spend that kind of money it would be on a 911. I can't wait to finish the project. Its too bad that very few people are educated enough to appreciate these cars. I have had so many people ask me when I was driving previous porsches if I have a V8 or Twin Turbo (when I was driving my stock MO30 968). Crap like that bothers me.

Here's why lots of 968 turbo guys use hood pins... otherwise you need to get creative with the intercooler or hood latch...

I have seen that picture somewhere earlier. I have thought the possibility to make a clone of it from carbonfibre & aluminium

^^ A clone of it? So it is a factory part then? Do you have a PN?

That is a nice looking brace though....

Does anyone have some 17" wheels laying around. I need something to put on this project car. I don't want to spend more than $1000 on wheels and tires. I also don't want heavy poor quality wheels. Any thoughts????
