Boxster brakes
Hello. I am wondering if the Boxster front brakes is an uppgrade for the
86 951. With the adaptor will they fitt ?
My front brakes need an rebuilt and the cost of this is ~ $ 200 each
caliper. The Boxster ( not the S ) is about $ 300 new and it is 15 years
newer. I dont want to change the rotor, the size is almost the same
on Boxster and the 951.
Is there some one here using these calipers???
Thanks.

I don't have piston sizes or swept area figures in front of me so this is speculation but monobloc boxster calipers should be lighter than standard 951 calipers but about the same size. You'll need caliper adapters to mount them as all the new porsche calipers mount radially like the big reds do. I don't know if big red adapters would work but it shouldn't be much to have some custom made.

The piston size on my car is 38/36 and the seals is not for sale.
It is only for the later model with the bigger dust boot. The Boxster
caliper is 40/36 in piston size and it dont have the spring plates
as the stock caliper has. My consern is the thicknes on the Boxster
rotors , are there some one who knows that??
And i got an price from Sunset on $ 238 each caliper. Not an bad price.
Thanks for the info.
