Annoying boost leak hiss under dash-Anyone?
I've been dialing in my car with a target of sustained 15psi. The wastegate, chips, AccuBoost seems to be holding it until about 5700 rpm which seems about right for the K26-8. AFR is OK tending to the rich side on a cheapo Rennbay gauge (I know, get a real one!)
My question is at idle and normal off boost running vacuum is good (16-18 warm at idle) with no leaks. When I put my foot in it I can hear a definite very strong hiss from behind the dash. I assume this is the vac line to the air damper...of course this is the only OE line I didn't replace during my venturi delete because I couldn't get a new silicon line through the firewall. The VDO boost gauge is a direct connection to the Laust manifold so it can't be the KLR line and doesn't really show any boost drop because of it. All the AC controls work fine except for the boost hiss. Where should I look for this vac air damper connection and isn't a check valve supposed to prevent boost pressure to this connection? Is this the only vac line to the cars interior besides the KLR hose?
TIA
Steve
