Question Tial install and bypassing the CV?

I searched through a boatload of posts and think that I can connect the LBE directly to the side port on the Tial, avoiding the CV. Is this correct or should I keep the CV in the loop? How will either affect boost response?

The LBE is only temporary until I get anEBC....

TIA,

Tial should be used with a MBC or EBC I don't know if the LBE will work. To remove the CV you need a new DME chip. The way the hoses should be set up is on line off the intercooler pipe. a "T" is put in to that line where ever you want. One line off that T goes to your MBC or EBC and from there goes to the top port of the waste gate. The other part of the "T" goes directly down to the side port on the wastegate.

I'm setting up for singleport right now. I know it can work. I just need clarify if I can bypass the CV.

Why would a new chip be needed to bypass the CV?

I'm also curious to why he would need a new DME chip, since many people just choose to unplug the CV, it is essentially the same as removing it as far as the DME is concerned. From what I understand you can do what you intended to do without any ill effects with an MBC or EBC.

Ok, kinda OT, but what exactly is the CV? Cycling Valve? same as the bypass valve? (bov)

The cycling valve is the factory electronic boost control. It effectively cycles to control the amount of exhaust the turbo sees to control the amount of boost being produced. It is controlled by the fuel computer and so people remove it when turning the boost up because it won't allow boost past a certain level.

Thanks gator.. That clear some stuff up. Now the real question is, how much boost before you need to bypass it? Or does Aftermarket chips do this for you? (I though that was the whole concept of chips)

Well the nice thing about getting rid of the CV is you can then get rid of the venturi. You have to run a line from the oil separator to the j-boot but w/e. With the CV if you run higher boost the DME chip will kick in to over boost protection and you better hope you have your seat belt on (from what i have heard) I just think it would be nice to get rid of some of the Shi@t in the engine bay

Definitely agree, I have a walkthrough on my site for the venturi delete/cycling valve delete/vacuum hose update.

If you bypass the cv, does it have to be unplugged? Won't have time to remove it until later.

I would suggest unplugging the electrical connection at the top of the CV.
