Default Is there such a thing as an aftermarket fuel dampener?

Ie one also with the vac connection?

If not, what do you think the impact would be if it was moved further from the rail? More pressure variation?

I was told, it only matters if your running large injectors. ie.. anything under 55lbs its ok to run without.

I could not find any aftermarket dampers when I built my rail.

I am going to be running both... I just wanted to keep it in the loop. I will try both ways and see how it goes.

I do know that some cars i have seen (opel/vauxhall) run them without a vacum directly after the fuel pump. I think it is to actually dampen out pulses from the fuel pump, not the injectors.

I wonder how our cars would handle a "non vacuum line" dampener... hmmmm

Just out of curriousity, why do you want to remove it or replace it?

Couple of reasons, one I want to delete the smaller rubber line, and I am planning on running 8 injectors, and want to simplify the system as much as possible.

Hmmm did a search and came up with this... I dont think I will consider it!

http://www.oz951.com/public/mods.htm

"The issues that I have had with the Lindsey Racing (LR) kit include, a drop of 2 PSI in fuel pressure from the regulator that led to a slight lean fuel condition. A failure of the dampener that took in the order of two months for Lindsey Racing to replace because they did not hold any spares and Marren told me I'd have to wait until the next batch were produced. Users of this system have also experienced a very annoying knocking/reverberation in the fuel lines that is transmitted loudly into the cabin. Lindsey Racing produced a replacement line to solve the problem but in my case the knocking has not been eliminated"

Michelle, do you have any more pics of the dampener? Ie the fittings it uses etc? And does it use a vac line to actuate? There does not seem to be mucho info on this one...

They dont really have any pics of it, has anyone got more pics of it? Is it just line in from pump and line out to rail?

Yep. Very simple. Just finished running my vaccuum hoses - none to the damper. Lindsey uses the Marren damper so anyone running his setup should be able to help you out. If you want to custom build your own, Marren is the place to go!

I can take pics tomorrow.
