My mech runs and suggests Amsoil, Synthetic.
His cars and all the cars he maintains and runs for Daytona 24, Sebring, and Road Atalanta all run it and after breakdown of motor after race, the motors looked perfect. He said that is not the same with any other oil he has run, even Mobile 1.

After finding the Amsoil Racing in my local NAPA for $8.99/qt., I decided to try the AGIP Racing 10/60. It's not listed on their website, but at the provided phone # it was $116 for 24 Liters, plus $13 for UPS ground. This works out to $5.13/qt. after conversion.
I hope it's as good as stated, as I will be doing 11 track days in the last 2 weeks of July.
One thing I've heard about synthetics as a group is, while they are generally better lubricants, they are not as good at transferring heat.

So maybe the synthetic blends are better??? Best of both worlds.

This is the comparison of various oils from Amsoils site. There isn't one category where Mobil 1 outshines the competition.

PLUS why is your car burning mobil 1 and not other oils
is it because MOBIL 1 is made to be more "slippery" for the lack of a better term.

$6 is the shipping. Same shipping cost, regardless of quantity. I usually buy two 12 quart cases at once. When you buy by the case it works out to $8.5 per quart. The 20W50 is some good stuff, not water like some other brands I've tried of "same" weight.
Worth the protection to me. I even use it in my tow vehicle. With the mileage per change Redline recommends, it is a good deal. My dad uses Mobil 1 in his 968's, but he never drives above 2000rpm . . . so he could probably use anything. His cars, his decsions.
OT: Mike, are there still pics of your car floating around. It's blue on black right?

Like the BIG rigs, I've used Shell Rotella in my turbo diesel pickup, and also in my diesel tractor. I haven't tried it in my 951, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
