Default Ring Compressor Recommendations?

Anyone have any advice/recommendations on piston ring compressors for the 951?

You can certainly use my old girlfriends mouth! It's better used for your purpose than it was for mine!

I just went to Partsource, and picked one up, it's the Lisle brand, 2 1/2" to 5" piston ring compressor. I found it was a little finnicky, but worked pretty well.

My favorite are the tapered style. The diameter is adjustable over a small range (about .250”) and they are pretty fool proof. The ‘pliers’ can be a pain in the *** and result in broken rings.

Holy cow that’s a long www address!

I only use the tapered type as well, I turn my own out of scrap material in the shop to fit whatever bore I'm working on.

I got a Lisle as well. I also bought their ring pliers. Things went well.
