I just got Hit!!!!!!!!!!!! (updated)
I'm stopped at a red light when this primer black Neon locks up the tires then......thud. I call the cops and they issue a report. The flippin high schooler was munchin' on a ice cream cone (now all over his dash. HA!!!)
So far the damage tally is 1 GT Racing european bumper, both sides of the diffuser, a few minor dings on the pannel right above the bumper, a bent in spare tire well, and bent exhaust.
The only non bolt on damage is the spare tire well which is not too bad. It is definatly not a total loss. It seems he went more under me than a direct hit. The Neon was a real POS complete with a ricer wing, hood scoop and huge set of subs. His hood was buckled and he was leaking coolant.
::::Update::::
I took it to the shop that did my Chevelle ($13,000 worth of damge thanks to a red light runner) and they gave an estimate of around $4200. I told them to make sure it does not get totaled. So out of the deal I get all new exhaust (SFR 3" from the turbo back ($1600) since it is cheaper than the stock stuff ($1700)) and the GT Racing bumper. So it will work out in the end. I just feel like a ricer driving around without a bumper.

Sorry man, but that's still possibly totalled depending on who looks at it. IIRC book value is about $6,500 or so and most companies will consider it a total if it's more than about 75% of that. So with what you're talking about, it's gonna' be close. Keep your fingers crossed and tell the shop you're trying to NOT have it totalled out before they do their estimates so they'll keep it kinda on the low side if possible. Good luck.

Be careful on this one. One of our riding buddies that got hit during our Thanksgiving Pizza run had the same damages. Two bodyshop estimates were over 8k. Insurance wanted to write off the car.

hell, if they total it, take the 8 grand from the insurance co, buy it back for 1500, then fix it for 3 grand. youre then positive 3500

I really dont think it will be totaled. I called the shop that fixed my Chevelle (they did a great job, $13,000 worth of repairs) and they already started to order/source parts. It happened in Michigan and as a result of that the other guy pays my deductable, $500.
The worst part is I have to drive it back to AZ looking like a busted *** piece of ****. I hate it when my cars are not in top shape.
Hey ted, the seats are working great, I cant wait to try them on some real roads with curves.
Any volunteers for the 951 Ninjas?????
If anyone sees a white 951 with no rear bumper please don't pass judgement, in fact wave because it is probably a fellow Rennlister.

didn't matter that it was/would be hard to replace and they used kelly bb values.

Glad it worked out. Man that is a lot of damage. I was reading somewhere about someone who deleted their spare tire well (saves weight on no spare and a little extra without the sheet metal) and just carried around some fix a flat. I guess they assume no blow-out. But more importantly this allowed them to put a cool Viper-esque/ F430 style bottom rear on it. Kind of neat.
