I'm trying to fix my car from overheating.
the one thing which doesn't make sense but seems like a clue to the problem is that the heater when turned on full does not really blow hot air.
Any ideas?

Is your car holding water i.e. there are no leeks from the coolant pipes orwaterpump?
If the car is holding water but not circulating it around the pipes to the heater, then it is possible that the small metal pipes that run to the heater under your intake manifold have corroded internally and at the ends which can block the flow as happened to me.
I was amazed at just how corroded these thin metal pipes were - Replacements are cheap though and if you take the intake manifold off it is a good time to replace all of the vacum hoses and rumber pipes with new ones or ideally Silicon items.

the car was fine till I did a turbo swap so I don't think it's corrosion and now that i think about it the heater used to blow pretty hot.
I've tried using the radiator pressure tester method of bleeding the system per clarks garage but it doesn't seem to help.
I think it's air but wanted to see if anyone else had the same experience (overheating but heater not working) and fixed it

If the engine is revving to ~4k (I did it in 1st gear)...do you get heat?
When my HG was toast and there was plenty of air in the system, I would get heat when driving around, but not at idle.

EEEEWWWW.... I hope this isn't the problem.
have you checked the heater hose on the back of the engine? It really does sound like air, but you said you tested it. I'd be really suspicious of everything regarding the heater hoses and valve. I really hope it's not the gasket. Good luck!

Most probably there is still air in the system, try bleeding the system again, but make sure the heater is set on full heat when you start bleeding.
