Default Laust - IC nozzles...

Hey man,

Are you keen to sell me the IC nozzles you use for spraying?

PS sorry to post here, but I have not got a reply through email and thought others may be interested in it with a controller of some kind, ie Link H20 controller.

If you are only interested in IC spraying and not injecting, you can use about any type of nozzle.

Just need to get water on the IC.

Yeah but the better the atomization the better the result. I'm an Aquamist nozzle fan, personally.

I agree Aquamist makes the best nozzles BAR NONE, but for just an IC sprayer, atomization is not a concern; coverage is the only real factor.

It's better to have more of the IC get sprayed, then to have a super fine mist only get to part of the IC.

But, it certainly would't hurt to use Aquamist nozzles in a sprayer set up.

Has anyone tried the subaru nozzles? They're only $10 each online.

I'd use at least two nozzles, one in the middile of each endtank pointed towards the center. If you buy more nozzles I'd do a few across the top.

Actually, what if you mounted them near the bottom of the intercooler pointed up? Well, up and forward so you're spraying at the 45 degree angle towards the incoming air. That way any excess or dripping water would be picked up by the incoming air. Just a thought shot from the hip.

ehall - we're discussing spraying the exterior of the intercooler right now.

Thanks, that's what i thought. I would imagine the gains wouldn't be quite as much as internal injection, but you also aren't worrying about too much h2o getting into the mix. AND, you wouldn't need to buy a larger intercooler right? Correct me where I'm incorrect.

Try McMaster-Carr. I have also seen some people that use garden sprinkler spray heads. It doesn't need complete atomization like WI.

ehall,

That's kind of my line of thought as well. You can spend $400 for a marginally larger intercooler or less than $50 to cool the thing down with water. Water seems like a much better bang for your buck.

There are other issues such as the pressure drop that our intercooler causes and the fact that you can run out of water on the track. It may still be more cost effective to do an IC sprayer....or just do water injection!

Mac..I'm not running on the track, but I live in a hot climate, with more stop and go then I'd like. I can definitely tell when the engine bay is too hot (ambient temp) so I'm looking for a few cost effective ways to A. Vent hot air out. (a hood vent of some sort. and B. MMaintain strong boost when I want it. I would have to create an on demand only system controlled from th **** pit.
