I was working on replacing the vacuum line from the CV to the wastegate this morning. I left that vacuum hose off so I could try and diagnose my low boost issues. When I tried to start it the motor wouldn't start. I remembered that I had disconnected the ground strap at the back of the motor for clearance. I reconnected the ground strap and the motor still won't start. I vaguely remember reading something that it was bad to run the motor w/o the ground strap. Did I fry something?

If you don't have another car to test your DME and KLR in, you can send them to us and we will test them for you. No charge, except for the cost of shipping it back.

Well, unless any other Rennlisters in Southern Oregon are available I might have to do that. I just tested the DME relay and it looked O.K. I jumped the DME relay on the relay panel as per the instructions at Clarks Garage to see if it would run without the DME relay. (Testing to see if the relay was bad.) It didn't start. It looks like I fried the DME computer.

Don't assume. Verify.
But leaving a ground strap disconnected will definitely make the DMe the NEW grounding point.............
