Default car dies while driving

yesterday, i started my car and was driving out of a parking lot. i made it all the way about 2 miles to an onramp to the interstate, but half way up the car lost all power. more gas wouldnt get it to accelerate at all. i then put the clutch in and the motor quickly went to 0 rpm, so im coasting up an onramp at 45 mph with lots of cars behind me. i quickly turn off the key, start the motor, and we're going again. odd. but now the car takes a couple times to start. sometimes it just sits there and cranks. usually on the third time, it starts, but starts up just fine. then this morning, again, just a couple blocks from my house on the way to work, the car loses all acceleration, and i have to start it again while coasting. seems like it just suddenly forgets that the ignition is on. what could it be? DME?

DME relay is my guess. My car behaved exactly like that when it failed.
