Sorry to burst the bubble here, but that power sliding not drifting.

Rage2 hase posted some drifting though before... I always wanted to ask himif he uses the clutch technique to break traction.

Eyal actually stated a fact Campeck, whereas you came off sounding like a mystical force caused your car to shift in one direction.

I'd be curious too, but I suspect he can just give it some throttle to oversteer rather than use a clutch kick. I'd rather roast some tires than have to do a clutch job on these cars.

I am not sure it would be just throttle though, unless the tyres were undersized grosly which would harm him getting traction to get speed up in the first instance. I am sure he would have to clutch it or handbrake to break traction to get a slide you can control and predict... even with 500WHP.

lol, he seemed to have the right idea, he didnt kick the rear end the other way and think it was cause of the tranny.

well my "powerslides" only needed a shift to get them out. and he edited alot out. some i could just cut the wheel and it would ease around. liek the VERY first slide in that video i jsut turned and got on it. after that its feathering the throttle. on a turbo though.....idk.
i get the feeling MPD doesnt like me...

drifting or sliding is all about weight transfer. you upset the rear's traction enough to break it and your sliding. with a rwd you over power the wheels for the amount of side load applied to the tire, and it will lose its grip. you lift off the throlte moving the weight of the tire in a side loaded situation, and the tire will lose traction, resulting in a slide.

With a 2.5L Automatic z3, I can sustain sideways motion with NO problem with 225 rear tires, break em loose too if I load the suspension properly. Like I said, I dont think Rage has a problem with it. I know 265's can break lose with a nearly stock 944 turbo.

Hmmmm I guess that 2.8 does put out a lot of torque. I guess I need to go try it out next drift day... I think there is one coming up in a couple of weeks.
