How about $1400 for a 20% improvement? How about you sell your 951 and buy an SRT-4? That would make the most sense, wouldn't it?

I'm hoping the $1400 includes the chips which result in the most noticable gains.

Chips- $400 and ~225rwhp
MAF and chips-$1400 and ~250rwhp.

Hmmmm. I'm (edited):NOT discounting MAFs at all. I have one on my car with a stock turbo. I just maintain that unless you plan to go to a bigger turbo, you will get more out of your money by spending it elsewhere.

Just curious: A used ape maf system with chips and all can be had around $700. What other mod on an otherwise stock car in the same price range will produce bigger gains?

Not much. Buying used is the way to go. The MAF is so expensive new for what you get.

In a perfect world, we could afford John's stage II kit.

FWIW, Jon Milledge told me that on the dyno the difference between chips alone and chips with an AMF is about 4 hp.
