Exhaustpipe cracking under heat???
We know exhaust temp should be as high as possible to turbo.
To keep the heat in the pipe there is wrapping or coating.
Coating a pipe from the inside may beware the pipe from heat
wrapping will result definetly in higher pipe temp -
will the pipe crack under heat?
I know some people do wrap - but how long does the pipe tolerate this?
Racers, at least I think that, don't care because if it cracks they always have the money to fix it.
What do you think?
kind regards Frank

I have seen inside coated manifold flacking
mainly because theres no proper way to prepare
the inner surface before coating. Coating the
exterior is safer & at the same time it still allows
some heat to radiate off the pipe which should
prevent cracking.
