Paragon lists two #'s for the 944T:
WR7DC
and
W7DSR
What's the difference? Don't have the manual handy and my P.O. was kind of a boob so I ain't trusting that the ones in there were the "right" ones. TIA.

Everyone always bashes platinums on here. I can't figure this out since I have always used Bosch Platinums since they first came out on every car I've ever owned: Sciroccos, Rabbits, Alfas, 944 NA and now 951. I have always noticed a huge difference in drivability with these plugs over standard Bosch, NGK standard, etc. On my oil burning Alfa they changed the car into a different animal and Alfas are notoriousy picky on plugs preferring Golden Lodge (rare Italian plugs)--On my early Sciroccos, I could advance timing for a few extra HP with Platinums and not ping. Never had any problems with any of them.
So after reading another plug thread bashing platinums, I bought some Denso Iridiums (couldn't find NGK iridiums locally) I'm going to try (if I can stomach the cheesy green lettering on them.)
Why does everyone hate platinums?

I have nothing against plat plugs in general. For one thing platinum is not a great electrical conductor. They are more corrosion resistant and can handle more fouling though which makes them popular for long term service. I use single electrode platinums in my Q45 with no problems. Many plat plugs are pre-gapped, can't be cleaned/regapped, or have multi-electrodes which I feel can cause shielding of the arc. I took some severely nasty 4-electrode Beru plats out of the 951 last weekend; one plug was so oil/fuel fouled I can't believe it could fire at all. Others with elevated boost levels have complained about some of the multi-electrode models breaking off an electrode tip and slamming around in the combustion chamber until it's spit out to hit the impeller. The old world copper type just seem to work better for both my cars. Every car I've every owned seemed to prefer a certain brand and/or configuration of plug, the Porsche is no different.

Also running the NGK's.
I have had the hardest time finding just the "standard" maintenance items for my 951, and when I asked for Bosch plugs they were a special order.![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
I asked for the NGK equivalent and they were in stock. (This is at Kragen)
Had the same issue when trying to find oil filters...I mean really, who knew it could be so difficult to find someplace local with such an ordinary part in stock!
However, after making it down the call-list I finally found out that Pep Boys had a Purolator filter for our cars, told them to put my name on the damn thing, and picked it up.

If you saw all the marks and dings on my cylinder head/piston from the Bosch Platinum plug that were on my motor you would probably understand. This topic has been debated to death, but I've only seen one plug fail in my life and it was a Bosch Platinum. There were at least 3 other folks here that had the same experience. That's enough for me since the NGK's are the same price.

For what it is worth I run NGK BR7ES in the Callaway *the non-projected tip* plugs with better results than BPR7ES. Some of that could have been with ign timing though. I feel I have it close to being dialed in now.

I run Bosch WR7DC in my 951, in stock at the local NAPA, can't beat the price, when I bought mine, they were $1.18 each (CDN), and except for the cylinder that burns oil like a ****, they are holding up great, look almost like new, after 3200 miles. Somebody told me the NGK irridium plugs are warrantied agianst fouling.... I should try one on my oil-burning cylinder, I'll get lots of free ones
