Default Cam Tower painting Question

For you guys who have painted your cam tower with engine paint.
How well has it held up ???
Same question for the intake manifold.
I was thinking of hitemp aluminum paint

I'm thinking about it, but if the paint tends to peel or flake off, then screw it .
Thanks

I've not done it on the P-car, but I've done engines before. It's the same as normal paint, It's all in the prep. Make sure everythings as clean as possible before you paint, and it'll be just fine.

In the spirt of the Do-It-Yourselfer, what prep/cleaning products do you recommend to make for a ready to go-paint surface?

I always found a good wire brushing to get off the heavy stuff, then go over it with brake cleaner and the brush to get the lighter stuff off. After the cleaner evaporates, you can see what needs doing again until clean.

There used to be a high temp primer available aswell. Not seen it for a while though. If you can see it, use it too. Someone had a thread about 2 days ago on doing the cam tower. I suspect there were some tips in there too!

get the cam tower foam soda blasted in and out (using baking soda) and then wash it off with water and voila start painting away.
