To glue or not to Glue
What is the best glue for the valve guide seals?
I'll be using the seals in the kit supplied by Lindsey
Thanks

I had mine come off, three of the guide seals were easily removed with finger pressure, and i really took my time installing everything accordingly.
To glue or not to glue, i went with the teflon seals paragon sell, they fitted much better and no issues at all.
I think there is a bad batch out there, since some people have problems, and other don't.

I glue them all now; the glue i use is the loctite high temp adhesive available at home depot. It was the only glue I could find at the time that was rated to 400 degrees f (i forget the exact number), and it appears to work, although I havent taken anything apart to check.

#1 and #2 plugs were filled with oil, and i get blue smoke on start up.
I got that when i replaced and rebuilt the cylinder head, i have been using the teflon seals for a little over a year and plugs are dry and no smoke (and oil consumption).

Are these the ones everyone is talking about.....it says they are NOT for 944 Turbo...or does that just mean they are for the un-grooved valve stems

I got those from Paragon, but they did not mention "not 944 turbo" then, i even talked to chuck, they should be fine, since the guides are all the same.

Ok after a closer look my valve guides do not have grooves like the ones at 944online or the grooves in the VR seals that came in my HG kit, but they are not smooth....they have small grooves or ridges....and yes some of the seals are not on like three of them ...my spark plugs look fine so my valve guides are probably ok....anyway I don't want the stock ones should I get the Teflon or use the VR ones from my HG kit....

I am completing an engine rebuild due to valve stem seals. I had to replace my original HG last year and the replacement valve stem seals came loose and the Valve springs crushed the metal portion of the stem seals into little ***** that went everywhere in the engine. I did some checking and there are two valve seals for the 944, one has a 928 P/N and the 944 Turbo has its own seal. I glued the replacements in with Loctite 518 to insure they stay put this time.
