1. Not a biggie to replace, probably about £150 for a pump, but if it hasn't been working for a long time, there may be turbo damage without it being cooled properly. How did you tell it wasn't working? It should have run for a while after shutdown (once the engine was warm). right?
2. They do that! Aircon on these is notorious for not working properly. Could be anything from the relay gone, to needing a new pump, condensor etc etc. If you can live with it, it's not a problem really....
3. Mine doesn't have any either. I understand the S's didn't have any. But don't quote me on that! The only prob I have is that the bonnet paint seems to oxidise quite quickly, Either becuse mine is red and 15 years old, or because of the lack of heatshield. Either way, how do you tell if a white car's paint is oxidised!? I wouldn't worry about that.

Anyway, if those things are wrong it's not worth £8,950. At a Bosch place, you could easily spend £1000 getting the aircon fixed (worst case) and a new turbo, fitted at a specialist is another grand. If you think it's worth the risk, offer him £6.5k

Yes, the underbonnet foam mouse-food was deleted at some point, possibly around '88.
