Default Fire Supression System Group Buy! (Hurry, ends soon!)

After a fire incident this Sunday driving my freinds car at Buttonwillow, I went looking for my options for fire supression. John D. has given his approval. The same people I am running the seat group buy, are willing to run a group buy on this sytem:

"Emergency Suppression System info:

-Dimensions: 13" long, 4" diameter
-Charged weight: 7 lb. 10 oz.

-Designed for racers by racers and meets competition approvals of SCCA, NASA, and other sanctioning bodies. This system comes with 3 nozzles, a bulkhead tee, manual pull cable, and all brackets, tubing and hardware to complete an installation.

-This system comes complete with 10 ft. of aluminum tubing, all required AN
fittings, instructions, 3 nozzles, mounting brackets, tubing clamps, adjustable manual release cable, and the charging kit.

-AFFF will not cause electrolysis like all dry chemical extinguishers will,
and it cleans up with water.

-This is the only system that you can refill/re-charge at the track and for
less than $60.

-Other systems require the bottle to be sent out, and costly recharge bills are apllied

-Meets sanctioning body requirements for an on-board fire system ~ Approved
for SCCA & NASA.

-The 2.3 Liter System is equal to a 5 lb. Halon system.

-Re-chargeable by you for UNDER $55

-Approved by SCCA & NASA"

... Also, an Ultra lap timer GB could be on the horizon too... of course, if John D is ok with that too.

Eyal,
That is a Firecharger system, which are now being sold under the ESS brand. Its a great system.
You should check around for best pricing. Clark at Apex Performance is the title sponsor of our race series, and I'm sure he would do a great deal on a group buy. I'm happy to check this out if you decide to go forward. Lemme know.

On a street car - how would you go about installing that investment saving insurance package? Anyone have pictures?

I'm thinking about putting the tank in the spare tire area, and carying around some of that tire sealent stuff, instead. That way it will still be hidden while my car is still pretty much fully furnished. also, the weight, though it really isnt much, will be mounted as low as possible. My car is still bery streeted. I think I'm going to mount 2 nozzels in the engine bay, one specifiaclly pointed on the feul rail, one I have to do some research. The third will probably be aimed inside at the driver, but I'm considering adding a valve, to turn that specific nozzel off for street, not sure if its worth the effort.
Tony, I'm one step ahead of you with Apex! They are great, thats for sure!

That Firecharger is an excellent system, are there options on the other 2 sizes at a discount? Regardless, I'm in on at least one.

You'll love the Ultra Lap as well, I've been using it for a while now and it blows the Hot Lap systems away.

Sam, I'm sure I can work out a price on the other systems as well. As for the Ultra Lap, I've done my research, and basically find the same, it DOES blow the hot lap out of the water.
Can you guys tell the track bit me, hard?

Anyone have ideas about routing the hard line through the passenger compartment?

TIA

Its fairly simple, and neat, if you run the hard line under the console. You will also want to run the actuator cable along the same path.

I've notched the rear edge of the console tray slightly to accommodate the bump where the hard line and actuator run under. From there all the way to the firewall is a snap.

The other challenge is finding a neat location for the fire pull. Its a bowden cable, so the run needs be be gentle bends only. The pull needs a good few inches of space for the cable to loop around and head rearwards. When the GB happens, I can post pics of my install if that helps.
