XP: Anyone using Corbeau seats?
#17
Be advice that what ever seats that you're looking to buy,
it is best that you can go to a dealer to try out the seat.
as we are all built differently, what's comfortable for MR A
may not work out for you. Example, I took a drive in my friends
GT3, I love those seats but after an hour of driving, my back
ache like hell & yet my friend does not suffer from any backaches
at all.

read above^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ good advise. The stock seats are damned comfortable. To all things there are compromises....but with your ***...your back?....be sure.

I love my corbaeu seats. I think they are very comfortable but they sit really low in the 951. I am fabing up some custom mounting bracekts that should raise em up pretty good.

What are the Corbeau brackets/rails like? Eyal's made the seat taller while someone else lowered their position. Did they use different rails or brackets?

No, sidemounts allow the seats to sit lower. But they dolt straight into the floor, not allowing your seat to move. They are a lot lighter and stronger though. I can get you a set of corbeau brackets and sliders for 134 shipped. Thats what I have, and it sits too high for me, how tall are you? Also, for those of you that need to raise the seats, you can shim the seats with washers. You can also tune the angle at which it sits in the car.

I have the sliding bracket right now and i am 5 9' and it is still to low. As for shimming it with washers i am going to need like a 3inch stack of em. If so how do i find out what guage my bolts are so i can get the same kind only longer?

what gauge? you mean thread pitch? I can usually tell by looking at em, if not take em to home depot and test em on the differnt nuts until you find the nut that is the right thread pitch. I'd recomend getting grade 10.9, or grade 8 depennding on metric vs american, might as well spend the extra few cents for strong bolts.

No, i mean the bolts have to be the right strenght or in an accident the seat will just fly off. They have to be the right streanght aka guage. At least thats what i was told?
