Default If its not one thing !!

First off 11mpg, Replaced the TPS and fixed that.

Boost was down, found a vaccum line off, fixed that running great.

Started overheating today. Left it idling looking for a cardboard box and coolant was pouring out, I assume from the overflow tank. Fans were on.

Checked the cap to see if its pressurized, later. It was not.

Checked the water level and it was okay, but maybe slightly low !!

Went to lunch and back and it is running a bit hot at idle.

Off to the post office and grocery store and it heats up at idle, but cools off when crusing. Sounds like the fans.

Checked the pressure again and its pressurized with no leaks.

I could not hear the fans, but when I turned the car to accessory, the fans were running but slow.

I am thinking this is a fan or controller problem.

Both fan fuses are good.

Is fan 1 and fan 2 for each individual fan or is fan 2 a sort of overdrive for both fans ???

Cool

As long as your anti-freeze level is good, your exhaust doesn’t smell sweet, and your fans comes on when you turn on the air I suspect its your thermostat. As the condition worsens she will start to puke coolant continuously. Good luck with the retaining ring. ed

My car once did this same thing, would almost overheat at stop lights then temp would go back down as I drove. As a temporary fix I rewired the fan relay so both fans would come on with fan 1 until I could figure out the cause. As the conditioned worsened I realized it was my thermostat. Changed both(acutally the car was missing the turbo 'stat) and the problem went away. I wired the relay back to normal and it's been fine since.
