Well this is it. Never have i owned anything but a chevy but i have my great 951 and am about to start the rebuild. So let the questions begin. I need to check the alternator and see if it is the alternator thats going bad or connection or just the gauge. I noticed the amps have went down to about 12amps. So what is my plan of attack. And just how difficult of a change is this going to be if the alternator is bad?.

I was in the same boat as you a year and a half ago and had to change my alternator on the road. No problem if you have worked on cars before. They are all just bolts. Just make sure when you are taking the belt off to loosen all the bolts that pivot on the adjuster rod and ac compressor.

I put new belts on her already so I am familiar with the tensioning rods. But should i assume the alt is bad or should there be things to check first?

poss voltage regulator? Thats what I thought mine was as Im having charging issues as well - but it tested out OK at Autozone...once I removed the regulator I realized a new one could only help things as it was worn down to the nubs....Im having the batt. tested right now...hopefully that comes back bad

As a newbie I'm required to inform you that no, you can not convert a turbo into a NA - there are just to many parts that need to be deleated... ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
