So what exactly was the point of him contacting me??? Maybe he was just hellbent on raising my hopes in Guru and then dashing them one more time!!
Do your self a favor throw those chips away (I sold mines on ebay for $ 119.00) and give John Vitesse a call. John has an oustanding reputation.

I second that. I tossed my Guru's and bought some Vitesse.

10X better!

87uk944t, I wasn't teasing you with that offer. After that last bashing, I went back and wanted to set things straight with anyone who felt slighted by my past service. Got refunds to some people, others had already eBayed their stuff, so there wasn't much I could do. I've gone from a list of 20 back-logged orders down to 10 in this past month. With orders slowing to trickle, it's hard to keep current with inventory, so I've been putting more and more work into my computer-consulting biz. Anyway, your order's gone out, and the remaining ones should be caught up this next month.

On your configuration, you changed three things at once:

- turbo
- injectors
- chips

I've sent you some troubleshooting instructions with having you make only one upgrade at a time to verify proper installation and operation. Should be done in this order:

1. turbo first set at stock boost, stock chips, stock injectors, should operate exactly like stock, don't hold max-boost in the upper-RPMs.

2. turbo @ 18psi, stock injectors, GURU chips set to stock-injector size. This should run similar to TurboS, don't run max-boost beyond 4500rpm as the injectors will be maxed out around then.

3. turbo @ 18psi, 55# injectors (really 52#), GURU chips set to 1st FQS setting. This should operate the same as previous configuration. But now you can run max-boost beyond 4500rpm.

Let me know how each of these steps go and we'll fine-tune from there.

Hi Danno, should expect new chips also? The last email you sent me was dated 3-10-05.

Yes Rick, I've got your shipping label printed up. I'm awaiting my next batch of chips to come in. There's about 90 chips that haven't been returned so I'm in the hole by a couple thousand on updated chips alone.

Danno, thanks a lot. But we have a little problem, Luis pulled the GR chips out and sold them on ebay. I made the mistake of telling him about your proposition and he got unpatient and sold them. Anyway if any money is due please let me know I will send you a check right away.

Thanks

Rick

Danno, I know I have said this before - your chips will go out tomorrow. Still on Verona Ave?

Danno,

So do you just like order blank chips and then map them or are they some sort of extra factory ones? I just always wondered where they all came from?

You can buy them new or used from any big electronics store (Jameco as an example) Also, Ebay has them all the time.

Apparently the same 2732 used in the early cars was used in pinball machines as well.

Good to know you are getting on top of things Danno. Keep at it, I'm sure it will all work out.

Have you sent me the new chip(s) to try to eliminate the overboost cutout problem yet?

I didn't realise you were short of blanks. I'll send the unused one(s) back to you when the new one(s) turn up.

Don't forget the EBC!!

Regards

Graham
