The combustion chamber volume does not change enough to be concerned about CR, but very good observation.

The intake valves used are not bigger than the 2.7L intake valves.

Can you make it fit a 3L block?

For the 951 we will be offering the followings: (you can change the name to whatever you like ).
- Stage 1 head: refresh, custom seats, stock valve size
- Stage 2 head: Same as stage 1 but with larger intake valves etc..
- Stage 3 head: Different intake, exhaust, keepers,... and larger intake ports as well (SpecialTool special). This requires intake manifold mods as well.
- Stage 4 head: I'm having this done for my race car.. Larger intake, exhaust valves.. many other mods and will be $$$

Notes:
* The intake & exh. valves used on the head (in the pictures here) are totally custom. You will be surprised at the weight in comparison to the stock items.
* A custom cam with the correct lift, duration and overlap will be needed to get the most out of the big-valve head. However there will be gain with the stock cam
* In general, I prefer to have customers do the performance reporting (good or bad!!!).

Exactly - if you already have a 16v head on the 3.0L block, why mess with it unless you're going to enlarge sixteen valves - it certainly can be done, but by the time you're done you'll be so broke you'll be lying in the gutter whimpering for your mommy.

"You got to find a sweet spot and call it the day."

Where do you see that sweet spot John?

Also, any cost estimates on your different stages?

Yes the 951 or 944 head can be modified to fit a 3L block, not a problem. The mods to the head can be done to any 944/951 rebuildable head.

As far as prices, I'm working on a price list. There are many options (type of valves) that complicate things. I'm leaning toward pricing each job individually depending on what's being done and what's being replaced. The big valves head will be in the $1700 on up...

Hosrom - I will provide POWER data, with ONLY the head. This will eliminate all the BULL**** from the equation.

My toilet will flow a LOT - but I don't know how much power it will make.

btw jim how do you know brad. I have talked to him several times on poppra forums...his new setup is coming along nicely.

I seriously hope you try and run him. That would be fun if nothing else. Maybe him on pump gas and lower boost vs you on high boost and race gas. That would be a good run.

Jim: So would this be done as a core charge for a new head, or we send you the old head and you modify it?
