I took part in the Devek supercharger weekend and several cars were on the Dyna-Pack. It was pretty straightforward.

Hmmm ok, I had extreme vibration when I went on one, the motor went crazy at higher rpms, and the session had to be stopped. Do you think it could have been a setup thing? Glad to hear yours went ok though, means mine should work!

It is very important to center the rear hubs, if the dyno you were on didn't have 5x130 specific adapters the generic ones might have just been put on off-center.

Or was it the engine that was behaving wierd?

I had the same problem Andrew. Genius dyno operators accused me of having a "traction control" system and refused to believe otherwise. I have video where you can see the whole exhaust moving up and down . . . scary. Other cars there that same day, NSX, 240's etc... all ran fine

I had a problem the first time on the dynopack.
As soon as they put some load it would vibrate like crazy.
We thought it was the LSD at first.
Then we switch to the other 2 boxes. Since they have 4 for AWD cars. And we didn't have that problem anymore.
After dynoing a AWD car they realised one set of machines was busted. Even do they where brand new machines.
I guess Dynopack fix the problem.
Since then i've been 3 time with out any problems.

You just installed a new high performance clutch didnt you NZ951?

I've had my car on a dynapack and seen many run on a dynapack with no issues. If you have a weak clutch, the dynapack will show it though.

This vibration was prior to the new clutch, so people are generally of the opinion that it should work if its setup correctly and dingo's (which there are none in NZ, they live in Aussie) are kept away?

Dynojet and Mustang use a large roller driven by the car's wheels. Dynapack connects to the driven hubs (once the wheels are removed).

www.dynapack.com

I keep wondering if there's a viable standalone business with one of these...

Supposidly they give you a considerable amount of TQ with low HP increase. Monkeys work better for all around performace, but very expensive.

Thats what it is NZ, to much TQ for them dynopaks!

Sorry i couldn't be of much more help
