These are my freshly coated heat shields & headers, Jet-Hot 1200, I used Jet-Hot 2000 on the downpipe & crossover.

These are most of the engine bay heat shields in and around the exhaust ... that were accessible. There were also a few coolant pipes that were looking a bit weathered so I had them done as well.
Hosrom , This is the Jet Hot Sterling
I was contemplating going with some Cad plating on some of the parts
but this Sterling is really great as a heat barrier and it looks really nice ...
The funny thing is, my car has relatively low mileage 47k so the parts were in qiute good shape but I wanted the
engine bay temps down ... so I went this route
I was considering Swain but they wanted the heat shields removed and the white looked a bit like I had
a Mummy in my engine bay
regards
Ed

That looks sweet
Did you do the 2000 in black ?
If I was removing the block I would do the whole engine in Jet Hot :-)

Don't the exhaust parts and heat sheilds need to be "specially" treated first before applying the coating? at least that is the info i came up with when doing a search on this.

Ed: Is there a problem with having a stealthy mummy looking engine bay?

Don't mean it hijack the thread.........

Special........
I think the shiny part of the block is the flash on the camera.
I used a green Scotch Brite pad knock off most of the scale, then 2000 grit sand paper to clean up any remaining gasket material. It did a really nice job without marring the surface.

And this is why I have 2000 grit sand paper around my garage!
I've got about 20 hours in it!

Crazy.....
Better think long & hard!! What an absolute mess. **** all over my garage! About 1/2 way through I considered just painting it black. If I had it to do again, I'd pay a pro to polish it, there are several threads about some machine shop in CA that does a great job for about $150. Good luck!

Yea
I believe it's Al Reed ?
I was really thinking of ruff sanding it and then shipping it off to JET HOT :-)
The only problem is you have to remove eveything from the tower :-(

FYI. I've found Performance Coatings in Washington does really nice work w/ great customer service. I used to use Jet Hot a lot but this place was less expensive and was very good to work with.
