Looking for 16" tires...
in the 275/40 - 16 and 245/45 -16 size - i have found many in the 245x16 width BUT no luck in the 275x16 width...i really don't want to go to 17s if i don't have to...these are for a set of 8" frt and 9" rear Club Sport street/track use wheels
anybody know of something that i don't?
thanks

Hmm, 275 is an awfully wide tire to put on a 9" rim. Additionally, a 245 front and 275 rear would exacerbate the understeer most cars exhibit. I'd suggest trying 245 front and rear as many people I know use that combo on the track with good success.

You won't find anything wider than 245-45/16 unless you go to a track tire. Some Kumhos in wider sizes can be used on the street but it sure wouldn't be ideal. 16" wheels are becoming one of those phased out wheel sizes so the manuafacturers are really supporting them any longer

There is no RMA spec for a 275. If you are going to drive on the street use a 245/45R16 all around or a 225 on the 8 and a 245 on the 9. It will be a nice combo.

I've got Fuchs 8's and 9's, and run 225's on the front and 245's on the rear. I find that to be a nice set-up for the street.
Opinions vary on the 7's and 8's, but my personal opinion is that the 205 and 225 are the best fit for those sizes. I know that someone else will say that 225 and 245 set up is OK to use on it, and it is. But appearance-wise, I think there is a lot of weird sidewall buldge and it just doesn't look right. I don't know if you can quantify the flex/handling difference (if there is any) between a 7" wheel with a 225 and an 8" wheel with a 225 though. That would be an interesting experiment to do.
