Default Weird Missing Sensation

86 951 - It's a random thing, but sometimes when i accelerate hard, usually in 2nd or 3rd gear, it'll pull hard up to bout 4500/5000 rpms, but then it just bucks, feels like its losing power for a split second, or losing fuel or something, and then kicks back in and keeps on pulling. This happens in a split second, and its pretty violent. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be or what I should start checking?

TIA
Mike

Check the ignition system, mine did that and ended up being a bad coil (look for green rust inside the coul plug).

I'd check you plug wires, cap, rotor and plugs first.

ditto what the other guys have said. Mine did the same thing right before the rotor exploded inside the cap.

check ignition system and check for over boost protection (plugged or pinched wastegate line or bad cycling valve) If over boost kicks in it can be VERY violent. Sound more like a ignition problem though

Could a bad/worn out wastegate cause this problem? I suspect that my wastegate isn't in teh best shape since i also have a little of a boost problem(don't get full boost in lower gears).
