Hi... working to finally finish the car



We are running into a problem with one of the balance shafts. The lower one turns freely but as soon as we install the front cover it becomes hard to rotate... not sure what it can be... I did the install of the side cover bolts by the order listed in the workshop to ensure no binding from the new bushings... again the balance shaft moves back and forth fine and rotates fine until the front cover is install and bolts in place. I have tried moving it a little to differents positions (there is a degree of movement on the front cover that allows for some adjustment...) and then trying again with no luck.

Let me start a search as well. Thank you in advanced for your help

 

Torque up the roller as well then re-check for movement that will hopefully align the shaft where it is supposed to sit.

 

I played with the three front bolts and the back one until it was working fine...had to torque the back bolt first and go with less torque on the front bolts... so with that out of the way is time to tension the belts and move on.
