I can tell you without question that my response is markedly quicker after I added my test pipe. It seemed to be the piece that, after I'd added chips, a cat back, and a high end DV, really brought my car alive.
I have dyno'd the car before and after; the charts don't show a lot of hp/tq difference though the boost comes on about 500 rpms quicker with the test pipe. However, my *** dyno tells me that little difference on the charts is a BIG difference on the street. Best bolt-on performance mod I've ever made, to any car.

It probably depends on how plugged your cat is when you switch it.
I gutted my cat and the down pipe is not collapsed. I noticed a slight
improvement. Very little. Gtech runs before and after shows the TQ
peak about 100 - 200 rpm sooner.

Hung, at what RPM do you get 5psi? 15psi? in 4th gear, starting at 2300rpm when you floor it?
tconn on this list has the same setup as you you should be able to compare notes.

While this isnt logging boost , I am logging the VAF voltage and the point where the VAF increase 'breaks' and where the AFR dips is the max boost point.
This is 4th gear floored at about 2100 RPM. I have 15psi by 2850 RPM
and have 18 psi by 3000 RPM.
If I start a run around 2500 rpm, then I have full boost by 3200 rpm.

What is wrong with 3300rpm for full boost in 3rd with a k26/8?
I have a stock WG + MBC + 2.5" testpipe and thats what I see and what I've seen to be common.
I have the same boost threshold before/after full rebuild with all new exhaust seals and different (although still a used stock) wastegate.

I don't have any figures, but mine spooled noticeably quicker after getting rid of the cat. The shop that did the work commented on it after doing a test drive, and I could tell immediately that the boost spooled WAY faster than with the cat on.
