guru chips rev limiter
hi all,
quick question...any of you with guru chips, do you know if they retain the stock rev limiter?
reason is, yesterday i was playing around with the car and revving it, and the tacho seemed quite happy to zing all the way around to what must be the 7500rpm mark. i didn't hold it up there, so it might just be the tacho 'bouncing', but i didn't want to chance it.

They should be 7k!! That is what I have and hit the rev limiter 2x just to see, but did is more slow then just full power in a low gear, to worry about blowing something up. I really want a 6,600 rev limit not the 7k but I never go in the 6k anyways.

My rev limit is 6,400rpm, and I can make the needle go to 7,000. The stock calibration is bad! I had it on a test bench and it was over 500rpm out. I would say your tacho is slightly off...

If you were playing with the throttle with the car out of gear, the engine will rev right past the rev limiter. The rev limiter is made to work while the car is in gear and slowly (relative) approaching the limit. It's not that yours is not working, just that you're asking it to control a lot of momentum in a very short period of time.

heh heh, fortysixand two got it right off the bat . i wasn't sure whether having the car out of gear was gonna affect it. i seem to recall having hit it before since i've had the guru chips, but it's been a while. just wanted to check.
geez, with the lightened pressure plate and flywheel, it sure does get up their quickly (and dies down just as quick too). speaking of which, i've gotten even more used to the PP now - i keep wondering whether something has gone wrong, it feels normal now. i drive it daily, in peak-hour, no dramas . it's a KEP stage 2, for reference.

I have the Guru chips at 18 psi with 7000 rpm limiter. I asked to Danno to get it but i'm not sure it's "standard" on these chips ?
In 3rd gear, hitting the rev limiter just when taking the picture (that explains the low boost pressure indicated)
Anyway, i don't use often the last 500 rpm... i just want to get it because my Cup car has a stock limiter set between 6700 and 7000 rpm and i'm used to this..
