Or do I need completely new end fittings?
I've never seen that style before, but based on what I see, I don't like it. If the male part of the fitting has a bevel inside you should be fine with steel ferrules. How this deal works is like this: The ferrule has a tapered edge that fits into the corresponding taper in the male half of the fitting. When tightened, the ferrule is forced down into the male fitting. As this happens, it constricts itself around the tubing.
If you do it this way, be sure the ferrule is all the way onto the tube when you tighten it, as it's a one-shot deal. Once tightened, the only way the ferrule can be replaced is by cutting the tubing further back, getting a new ferrule and doing the whole thing again.

Go with the compression adapters or flare the hard lines. Either way, get rid of that rubber setup, it's a problem just waiting to happen.

The details in your sig say your fuel lines are from Technodyne - I'm surpised Chris would use a combination like this.

Ken,
That's just hokey engineering there. He bought the compression fittings (Earl's) and found the sleeve didn't fit the metric tubing, and installed the rubber "monkey sh*t". I like the what looks like Aeroquip fire sleeves and that the connections were made in the wheel well, let's get the appropriate adapters on those lines.
Jeeeze, and I hate to admit it, but hose clamps are WAY better than that setup.

Yeah, the whole car is a mix of good parts with bad installs. It looks like the money was spent on the best options for the lindsey fuel lines, but something fell apart with the proper ferrules.

Here is my aim for a solution. I need a female -6 / -8 AN connector to the proper male ferrule fitting(and ferrule and nut). Similiar to what Pauerman posted, but instead of male on both sides, female on one.

If you can find this easily for me Pauerman, I'd certainly pay. =)

Ken,

Your hose end fittings are not JIC - don't use a 37 deg flare, so if you were to find compression adapter with a female -6 JIC nut it wouldn't work with the fittings you have on you hoses.

If you're wanting to use ferrules, I think you're going to need new 8mm & 10mm compression adapters and two new AN -6 hose ends. Even if you opted to flare the hard lines instead, you're still going to need 2 new -6 hose ends on both braided lines and 2 male/male -6 adapters.
