Default Odo not working

Hi Guys,
Replaced odo gear, made sure everything was
turning smoothly before reassembly. Installed
gauge pot back onto car but odo not working.
Could not even reset trip meter. I also visually
confirm that the worm gear is in got shape.
So, where do I go from here ?

Thanks

Did you use the trip reset before you drove it, or during?

Before Special, yes I'm aware that you're not suppose
to reset while driving. Took it apart again to check &
everything seems o.k. It was working before the odo
gear went south. Any suggestions ?

Could not even reset trip meter.
Do you mean you cannot hear the noise when you reset the trip meter or that you hear the noise but it doesn't spin the dials back to zero?

No noise & it does not spin.
Everything is clean & nothing
is stuck.

Check the fuse, connections, and make sure the unit is getting power. Both the odometer and the reset are electric.

Hi TT but my speedo is working. I would assume
that they are powered from the same supply line.

It looks like all three items are powered from the same supply.

I have one in pieces at work awaiting a new cam gear. If you don't find the problem before then, I can take a look Monday to see what you can do to test and help find the problem.

Ha-ha-ha,
It's a pity that I'm not in Europe or the States.
Even if it's zero miles, this car is not being
appreciated here.

TT,
Thanks, got my odo working. Turns out
that the gear mesh too tightly with the worm
gear.

Good. I'll make sure mine doesn't do the same.

Did that affect the odo reset?

TT, it seems that the KLR odo gear is
a wee bit larger.

I ordered mine from Rennbay, guess I'll see if it has the same problem.

The odo drive motor has a single mount screw at the top. You can try shimming it out a little to gain some clearance.
