My bill at Lindsey was $160, shipping too. Jim's (jwl) was $224 at Swain all together. The Swain 2.8 pistons are in this:

The lower parts were all cleaned and bead blasted and then heat resistant clear coated only. For those concerned about Jet Hot 1200 coating holding up to the heat, those are the same ones off his 2.5 Vitesse Stage II after 8k+ miles.

Where is the info on this at the Lindsey site? I just went there and didn't see anything. Do you have to personally contact them?

Zero10, I had my pistons coated at Top gun in Calgary a couple years and around 10,000 miles ago. The crown was coated with their thermal barrier and the skirts and underside with the molykote coating. They all looked in very good shape. I think it made a positive difference in my engine.

Haha, that advice comes a touch late
I bought a set from Ski, they're already coated. However, I have some other parts I would like to have coated with various coatings. Would you reccomend them given any experiences you had with them?

Do you have any idea if the molykote was compatible with the alusil bores? i.e. do you know if you have any appreciable cylinder wear/marking?

I have Darton liners thus the compatibility is not an issue. Becomes a standard Chevy piston cylinder material mix. Like I said the pistons looked very good after about 10,000 miles or 16,000km, so yes I would recommend them for exhaust pipes etc.

There is an article this month in the leaflet formally known as European Car Magazine. It won't keep the Pulitzer front-runners up at night, but worth reading. Bottom line: they test it on a piston with a torch and it proves effective.
