I think just because you read and compile facts and figures, it does'nt mean you have experience.

Buy a couple turbos and try them, then you have experience

It would matter more to me to see it in your car and a dyno chart to prove the performance. Rather than hear say.

Hard to say about time, at the moment it's just parts gathering around. Still need the WB and Injectors, not to mention a few other repairs that are setting me back.

those aren't bad #'s but if i am remember right the t4 turbo requires different crossover and downpipe and falnge or something and it was pretty pricey for the change becasue i was thinking about doing it. I made 351rwhp 361tq at 16.5psi or somewhere around that. major upgrades i have are maf, turbo 60-1hifi to4b housing, injectors, wg, and catback exahust with testpipe. These #'s were also with bad a/f #'s and i plan on getting more at the same boost levels. time will only tell what i get
here are the prices
SFR 60-1 turbo upgrade - $1199.99
SFR 321SS two-piece crossover pipe - $645.99
SFR 3" downpipe with V-band clamp - $399.99
total $2245.97

Hosrom,
When you get your hifi 60-1, please run it at 12-15psi &
let use know what kind of hp you're making O.K ?

BTW, have you ever considered the head mods & custom
cam the Tony G was using ? With such improvement in VE,
we would proberbly have to run 14-19 psi to get to Tony's
dyno figures on a stock head.

It would be greatly appreciated if you consider all factors
involved before voicing your opinion. Besides, dyno figures
can be made to look good too you know ?

Yup those are the JME parts I was referring to J Chen... how many thousand are they worth? 6K? Maybe more?

That is what I was hitting at Daniel.
Just look at how much money has gone into
this project car & yet he's only getting those
hp figures. Just look at what you're making.
You did not have to splash that much cash
right ? It is nice that our coming to 20 year
old cars is being featured but at the same time
it is bad press for us as well cause it will mislead
people into thinking that you've got to spend mega
dollars to gain good hp which we all know that it's
not true.

Hey Guys,
Did you guys read the article.
Because i think you are arguing the wrong thing.
Both turbo SRF and Kokeln run a 60-1 on the compressor.
The only difference is in the turbine.

Here i scanned the article for you guys.

I think the dyno numbers are good numbers indeed its just when you weigh in the money factor I think he could have gotten more but, to be fair we have been down this road before. This project car isint about money and the quickest and easiest way to hp. Its about trying out all kinds of parts and showing the results. I personally love the way the project is going and its nice to see a decent dyno number on pump gas.

All that being said I say call up john at Vitesse get one of his new stage 3 glory turbo's on there and re-run em'.

I think john is pretty much at the fore front right now for turbo technology. Although 337rwhp aint bad at all on boost levels pump fuel and stock cam/heads ect.

Remember making hp on stock VE is very difficult. Tony G's car as some have already pointed out was making alot more power because of the additional mods he had done to the car. If they were to build the head and the cam approiately you would see a big jump in power I am sure.

A 337hp 951 is a real quick 951 I dont care who you are.

I agree Jchen.
The power is not only in the turbo.
Its about having the right parts in the right place.
Replacing the weaker part with parts that can handle and make power.

I also figured the project 951 would make more power then that.
They say they maxed out at 17psi since the chip doesn't allow more boost.
That weird???
Maybe he should change chip set.

exactly edmund. I couldnt agree more. I think if they change their setup some you would see the power come.
