I will admit that I would like an auto for around town...Maybe i'll turbo an S2

Sorry dudes, I refuse to get old, I'm 46 and I may hurt some as my knees and back are pretty sore, I need bifocals now but I just deal.
BTW, I can deal with the soreness of getting older but wearing bifocals really
sucks. OH...get this, I have to take motion sickness pills before spending anytime under my car or I get sick. Something to do with the loss of equilibrium when ya get old.
Cycling is what killed my knees. 20 mile loop, 3 times a week, 100k events twice a month - even OWNED the cycling shop. I don't care what they say about low impact and I've got the knees to prove it.

As I said - the 951 stays for a play toy. But I live 35 miles from work. Work is in downtown Houston. That means I have to shift, ride the clutch, creep up, slow down, speed up, hit the brakes, watch for other idiots, and generally dodge large trucks more than I want to. An auto 928 would be nice...

I'm 40, and I have to admit I spent a few hours researching the Caddy STSs. 50K new, 30,000 miles and 3 years later 15.5$. Cush ride with 300HP. Gangster looks. I'm having a hard time getting past the visits to a GM ::shudder:: dealer, but my softening carcass would like the drive-a-sofa feel. I recently spent 24 hours in the back seat of a Deville and it ain't all bad! The winter potholes jarring my stiffly sprung Land Cruiser, and the always stiff Porsche and Mini all conspire to remind me I'm about ready for a soft ride. My zeal for a sporty ride has left me a tad bruised. When will I flop? We'll see.. Every pothole moves me closer....

Well, I am 15 (dont own a porsche) and don't know anything about being older (notice not old), but if you think about life, 40 is about the middle of it...if you are healthy and try to stay that way.
Speaking of age, I have a question: Do injuries that happened, say 30 years ago, start to hurt again? Asking because broke my hand once and now live with 5cm scars on my arm and titanium rods in both of by bones in the lower part of the arm.

Man, That really does suck. I ran a lot when I was in the Marines. I started cycling in my mid 20s due to the running tearing up my knees.
I have been racing off and on sence then. Did lots of 100 mile races, not tours...races. Then started mtbike racing when I hit 40. I havent been racing for a couple of years but I do try to ride 3 -4 days a week. As long as I dont push big gears early in the season, then I'm OK.

My son (21) can tell ya all about it. He has 2 legs full of titanium. One from a car wreck, the other from missing a 65 ft double on his MxBike. I even have a parts list
I sure wouldnt want to be him when he's 40

Everyone is different, but I would imaging youwill probably develope a nagging throb when the weather changes.
My son(see above) already has lots of pain.
I fractured my wrist in a Mx Bike wreck about 3 years ago and it still throbs in cold weather. Again...Aleve is my friend

Ben, if so, I'm ripe for Porsche driving, as I turn 29 next week.

Actually, I can relate to much of what you said in your post. I got my first Porsche in my early 20s, when I looked about 18, and now, at 29, most still think I'm around 21. However, just as you said, I just enjoy my cars and try not to worry too much about what others think. Good advice.

All you guys thinking Mercedes is for old folks, drive any model AMG (except for the ML55 AMG), on the track if possible, and you'll get it really quick.

I'm 29, and as much as I love my 951, I love my AMG more. It's so much more "day to day" than the 951. My 951 gives me a higher rush, but finding space in traffic to do so is a bitch (and a chore).

You don't have to worry about that! (..but thanks for the concern!)
