I would recommend one of the short linkage kits like the 944 racing one that was done as a group buy last year WAY before doing the actual shifter - reducing the size of the shifter just shortens the height and thus the length of the throw, whereas the short shift kit for the rear of the car makes a MUCH bigger difference in feel, shift throw, and accuracy imho...

I have both, and did the SFR before the 944 racing...if I had it to do over again, the 944 Racing kit for the tranny side linkage made a MUCH bigger difference, and iirc, the money was not very different.
