I missed that post. Thanks Scott. Let me know when you have those hubs and spindles available.

Also, I am not modding it to make it faster, I am really just concerned with track reliability. I don't want to enter turn one at Putnam going 90mph with a broken spindle.

For 87 spindles on 86 control arms, the 86 brakes should bolt right up, because I believe the caliper is the same for both (I can confirm tonight in PET). With the 86 control arms, you need to use early offset wheels. You also need 87 rotors, because the 86 rotors will not fit the 87 hubs. I get my rotors at Vertex; just make sure they're Zimmerman. It's a good idea to put in new wheel bearing as well.

I know for a fact that the calipers are the same between '86 and '87. My only concern was that it would clear the wheel, and you answered that, so it sounds like he would be good to go with just spindles, hubs and rotors. Thanks!

That's awesome. I need new rotors anyway. I also think the 86 brakes are fine for my skill level at this point.

Thanks

Just make sure they are bled b4 every event and invest in some proper track pads.

the only thing that sucks more than having a brake pedal go to the floor, is not being able to pump it back fast enough and make the corner.

As you get faster, you'll probably want the S4's, depending on the tracks you drive. The other good mod is to add 968 M030 front brake ducts.

Oh yeah, I bleed them before and I have Mintex C pads which are a great compromise for track and street. My old pagids were way too noisy. I already have brake ducting and I am probably going to enhance it.

The other thing that has always been suggested to me is to replace your rotors when they become thin at all. The rotors act as heat sinks just like the pads and the thinner they are the less heat they will disipate. I think alot of people overlook the rotors because they are more of a hassle to change and they usually look fine.

Thanks for all the help guys, it is much appreciated.
