Default NEED HELP troubleshooting in Atlanta..March 5th and 6th

Well guys... I will be back in town next weekend..March 5th and 6th. I am going to need help troubleshooting my car and getting it running. A couple of weeks ago....Chris (CWigg66) and Brad (Ilikemy944) and Ashton (Campeck)helped me install my engine in my car. We think we hooked everything up correctly, but my engine wouldn't turn over. My battery is pretty much gone, so we tried to jump it. still wouldn't turn over. We think it may be a starter or just the batt. Hopefully it is something simple, but it may be something in the hookup or wiring. I need anyone who has experience in hooking up an engine etc.... to help. I will be back in Atlanta next week and I have to get the carstarted and running properly. I will be driving the car back to Virginia, so it is imperative that it gets hooked up right. If anyone has some time and experience...I would certainly appreciate it. I know Chris will be back to help...and possibly Brad....but does anyone else have experience? I will be supplying drinks and Pizza.... PM me if you can help and need directions....

Also...I was possibly going to order a new starter, but does anyone in Atlanta have a good one for sale?

Ashton...you available?

Blake this is NOT looking too promising.... is there NO ONE that can help us out this weekend?... the car is assembled and ready to start but we get a very weak output from the starter... it turned over once and then nothing. We swapped batteries, still nothing. We did notice that something from the starter area threw some sparks as we cranked it for the first time. Anyone wanna help us out? Is this indicative of a bad starter? IS was working fine when we removed it? Wires possibly connected wrong? Why would it turn over once and then completely die? Help out your fellow Rennlisters here in Atlanta please!!!

Check the "Engine will not start after swap" post by 9fitty1. Sounds like the same issue and there are 36 replies on that one. In the meantime check your grounds and starter connection. The sparking you referred to sounds like something is grounding out which would prevent enough juice to turn the starter.

check the ;eads to the battery, and the post on the solenoid. make sure the wires on the actual starter are well connected. If I were a bit closer I'd come for the pizza alone goodluck.

Describe how you connected the starter leads, and what all you have disassembled. Checking the grounds is a good start.

Be sure the ground wires at the top of the block and bellhousing are connected or the computers will be fried.

I've could get you my old starter. It works fine - just squeals sometimes on start-up. Would save the expense of getting a new one. You could have it for free. I've got another used one that I just need to switch into my car(Hopefully it will work) I will be in downtown Atlanta on Saturday for the Flower Show and then in Athens on Sunday. You could come by Friday night or maybe I could bring it over Saturday evening.

Hey there, I wish I knew more about the cars, internally. If you've no luck, call Matt or Donny at Motor Werks Racing 770 886 0686. They are in Cumming.
