Sorry but Guru are NOT the best chips available for 951's, Vitesse are the new standard as far as most HP and drivability.

Appologies I meant that to be read the UK market as I am not yet fully aware of everything available in the US. But when comparing the Guru chips to Superchips available for the 944!!! There really is no comparison. Also the Guru chips have proved to be fantastic for engine life not just performance as they stop the mixture getting lean at high rpm... Still not conflict meant here

Sure but there are Rennlisters who have compared Guru 15psi chips to Vitesse 15psi chips and the Vitesse chips dyno'ed more power across the board, ask around ie: Jeremy Hinsel.

Time will tell if Danno can pull this off. I think he got caught up in the minutia of a chip on every table. I hope for all 951 owners he can, he's a smart guy (Engineers sometimes make the worst businessmen! Don't ask how I know). In the meantime it would be decent if those that have had serious problems with Guru would at least update us if a satisfactory resolution is eventually reached. It won't erase the bitter taste but would at least let others know if progress is being made. I was about to upgrade mine and now have only one reliable source with a good track record and customer feedback. It's great to have more than one option; I was always a big fan of MAP set-ups done right.

Props to ya for acknowledging the situation. It does take some guts to say what you did. I have read all the past posts and that is the kind of thing that might make someone else run away from the problem. It's good that you are going to solve the problem instead.

Thanx Danno. I have always valued your expertise and I hope that you will stay here on the list. I'm gonna need you to help me install MY GURU chips!

I'm another one hoping you pull things back together Danno. When I got my chips from you a couple years ago they were delivered promptly, the customer service was great, and the car has run great on street and track with them. Follow thru on your commtiments, team up with someone to handle the business end, and I'm sure you'll bounce back in the future!

Danno,

I have much respect for you, and coming out to this forum. I have not personally bought from Guru but from what I hear its always "Guru vs Vitesse". There have been a lot of negative comments passed at you and Guru and I respect you for coming out and admitting that you messed up. I only hope that you can pull every thing back together so we can still have these "Guru vs Vitesse" arguments!

Good Luck!! and Best Wishes!

Default Maybe a day late, but just the same...

Danno - you have my admiration for standing up and telling it like it is. That takes an immense amount of intestinal fortitude.

For the one's that have thrown stones before (and in this thread), you obviously have a tremndous amount of business savvy. Maybe you can PM Danno with some real life suggestions for achieving sucess out of this situation.

It is a no-brainer now when we look at the facts, but to head into something as complex as a business can be, and end up here is a real threat.

Thanks for letting us know what's going on Danno - and also a special thankyou to the Moderators and John D for being patient with those who called for Danno's 'head'.

To me, this is what Rennlist is all about.

This email sounds like de ja vue.

Put me on your list of people still waiting for a proper set of working chips (28 pin, 27/6) since September 2002, sold my MAP kit back then, ordered digital MAF upgrade in 2003, chips still not working.

Flame me if you will, but as an actual GURU customer - fool me twice, shame on me! The fact remains - I'll NEVER purchase from Danno again, now matter what his excuse. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I dont think anyone needs to hear if they will buy from him again or not. It goes into the "so what" category of information. Every vendor has customers that wont ever buy from them again, its a fact of business. Obviously some have more than other, also a fact of business.
